CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The National Football League has urged teams for years to hire more minority head coaches. “The league has been struggling to raise the percentage of head coaches of color, particularly Black head coaches,” Lapchick told The Associated Press. Rivera believes the success of existing minority head coaches in the 2023 season “absolutely” impacted the number of minority hires this year. Rivera, like many minority head coaches, hopes that one day color won't be an issue. “There are enough good coaches now where we can start saying, 'Hey, let’s just call everybody a head coach, not necessarily minority head coach.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A rejuvenated Baker Mayfield says he’s focused on defeating the Philadelphia Eagles, not the future of a career he’s revived by leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the NFL playoffs. The organization, the staff, our locker room — it’s just a special place, so I’ve truly appreciated it,” Mayfield said. Mayfield, meanwhile, split time last season between the Panthers and Rams, going a combined 2-8 as a starter. “I think he’s relatable because he’s different, and I think we have a different team," Bowles said. REUTERS/Paulo Whitaker/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsMEXICO CITY, Oct 19 (Reuters) - Brazilian fintech Nubank's Mexico arm has requested a banking license from local regulators, the unit's top executive said on Thursday, describing it as a bid to broaden product offering. A banking license would allow Nubank to offer "diverse kinds of investments," including shares in Mexico's main stock index, the company said in a statement to Reuters. Other opportunities stemming from a banking license include handling direct deposits of salaries for customers and setting higher deposit limits, Nubank Mexico head Ivan Canales said in an interview. Canales did not provide a timeline for obtaining the license in what is Nubank's second-biggest market after Brazil. Funding for Nubank's expansion plans will come from parent company Nu Holdings (NUN.MX) and deposits made by their customers, said Canales.

Low-income parents and babies are eligible to receive the benefit, which subsidizes food and care. If the GOP bill were passed, millions would see a benefit cut, especially to fruit and vegetable budgets. In total, according to CBPP's analysis, the $6 billion the GOP bill allocates to WIC would lead to 5.3 million children and pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding parents seeing their food assistance cut, or completely gone. Per the USDA, 6,260,000 people participated in WIC in fiscal year 2022; as of April 2023, there were over 6.6 million Americans participating, including nearly 1.5 million infants and 3.6 million children. The proposed cuts to WIC come after an already-precarious time for low-income Americans receiving food subsidies.

Since China doesn't have a central social credit system, many local government agencies have been experimenting with what the system could look like. But the plan is for the social credit system to eventually be mandatory and unified across the nation, with each person given their own unique code used to measure their social credit score in real-time, per Wired. In fact, a national social credit system is currently being proposed. Companies will also be at risk if China passes on its Establishment of the Social Credit System law. Citizens with good social credit can also get discounts on energy bills, rent things without deposits, and get better interest rates at banks.
